Villages resident arrested for woman’s death after DUI crash in golf cart: FHP

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – A 58-year-old Villages resident faced a DUI manslaughter charge Monday after a 60-year-old woman fell off a golf cart and died.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman from Norridge, Illinois, fell shortly before 12:50 a.m., on Sunday, at San Martino Drive and Santa Clara Circle.

FHP troopers reported she was a passenger in the golf cart that Richard Keil was driving while drunk. Troopers arrested Keil and took him to the county jail.

The Villages News reported Keil had moved from New Jersey to Florida in 2015 and to The Village of Rio Ponderosa in 2020. His bond was $50,000.
