Fort Lauderdale police releases 911 calls after murder-suicide shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man remained hospitalized in critical condition on Monday while detectives investigated a murder-suicide shooting in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, several neighbors called 911 after Carlos Reyes shot and killed Michelle Rodriguez.

“I just heard what sounded like gunshots and screaming ... It sounded like a woman was screaming for somebody to call the police,” a neighbor told a 911 dispatcher.

After the shooting on Friday, police officers responded to the house near Twin Lakes Boulevard and Northwest 45 Street.

Police officers reported finding Rodriguez, 24, dead, and Reyes, 28, and a man injured. Reyes died at the hospital, police said.
