Shark bite victim airlifted from Everglades National Park

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — Medics airlifted the victim of a shark bite from Everglades National Park Saturday afternoon.

Flight tracking data shows a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Air Rescue helicopter landed near the Flamingo Beach area, within mainland Monroe County.

The helicopter then flew to Jackson South Medical Center.

An MDFR spokesperson confirmed its medics responded to a shark bite at the park.

Video taken from the hospital showed the man alert and walking with his hand bandaged. He was later placed on a gurney.
