MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Several areas of Miami-Dade County were impacted by heavy rain and flooding on Monday.
Crews worked to trim a tree in Sweetwater after a large branch broke off and blocked the roadway.
It happened along Southwest Sixth Street, just west of 107th Avenue. The limb fell as a result of the morning storms that swept through South Florida.
A woman who spoke to Local 10 News said her husband’s car was nearly crushed by another tree limb, along Southwest Seventh Terrace near 114th Court.
That mess has since been cleaned up, but a photo obtained by Local 10 News shows the limb completely covering a car underneath.
Meanwhile in Edgewater, which is known for past frequent flooding, some areas were under a few inches of water.
Drains struggled to keep up with the rainfall as people attempted to get around, despite the weather.
