Police: 2 injured, including teen, during shooting in Miami’s Little Haiti

Miami police officers respond to 3 crime scenes during investigation

MIAMI — A 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were injured Monday during a shooting in Miami’s Little Haiti, police said.

Police officers used crime scene tape to block a triangular area near Northwest 56 Street and Second Avenue, just east of Interstate 95.

Police said the shooting happened amid a dispute between two separate groups who fired at each other. The two victims were from opposite groups.

6 p.m. report:

According to Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, police officers found a man wounded at about 2 p.m. on I-95 near 71st Street.

The driver of a gray sedan drove a man who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Miami police officers used crime scene tape to surround the gray car outside JMH during the investigation.

There were also police officers behind a white Dodge Durango with damage to the back window along Interstate 95 near Northwest 71 Street.

Two child seats were on the ground outside of the Durango. The front passenger’s side door was open. Police officers found the teen inside, police said.
