His mother, Deysi Gonzalez, said BCPS officials told her the two Driftwood Middle School students who attacked him last Thursday were suspended for nine days.

“It isn’t enough punishment because the damage they caused is terrible. The pain they caused me and my son is terrible,” Gonzalez said in Spanish.

Gonzalez said her teenage son didn’t suffer fractures and she still doesn’t know what the motive for the attack was.

“It’s not fair -- they’ll just go back to do what they want without real consequences,” Gonzalez said.
