According to an arrest report for Lt. Joshua Cornblit, he and his wife, Meilin Cornblit, had been drinking at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Weston Road on Sunday before Joshua Cornblit, 45, got behind the wheel of their GMC, backed out of a parking space and struck an occupied Lincoln in the parking lot.

BSO deputies said Joshua Cornblit fled the scene without stopping to provide his information to the other driver.

According to the report, the victim provided deputies with a description of the Cornblit’s vehicle along with its license plate number.

Deputies located the vehicle a short time later near Weston Road and Blatt Boulevard, but it was Meilin who was sitting in the driver’s seat while her husband was “stumbling down the sidewalk eastbound toward Weston Road,” the report stated.

According to the report, Joshua Cornblit had “bloodshot eyes” and was “struggling to remain on both feet, and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath that became stronger as he spoke.”

Deputies said he also spontaneously told them that he had a couple drinks.

According to the report, three witnesses told deputies that it was Joshua Cornblit, not Meilin Cornblit, who they initially saw getting behind the wheel.

The husband and wife were both taken into custody.

According to Joshua Cornblit’s arrest report, he faces charges of DUI, DUI with damage to property and leaving the scene of an accident.

Local 10 News has requested Meilin Cornblit’s arrest report.

As of Wednesday, neither was appearing in the online jail database.
