CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A man who was caught on camera posing as a food delivery driver during an attempted break-in in Coral Gables is now facing additional charges in two other cases — including a burglary and assault in Coconut Grove and a separate car break-in last month, police said.

Authorities confirmed that Jordan Tyler Pinkney, 35, was arrested on Tuesday after a Coral Gables woman said he tried to enter her home by pretending to be a DoorDash driver.
But investigators say Pinkney is also tied to a disturbing home invasion in Coconut Grove one day later — and a car burglary in Coral Gables weeks earlier.
Noon report:
The attempted burglary incident happened just before 9 p.m. on May 15 near the 200 block of Florida Avenue in Coral Gables.
The victim, who lives alone, said she was alerted by her home surveillance system and spotted the suspect in her yard. When she spoke to him through her doorbell camera, Pinkney claimed he was delivering a pizza — though he was empty-handed.
“I was terrified. I was home alone,” said the woman.. “He’s peeping in the glass. He is stepping past the no trespassing sign. He’s in the backyard.”
Surveillance footage showed Pinkney first knocking on the front door, then leaving after being told the resident hadn’t ordered any food, authorities said.
About eight minutes later, he returned, bypassed a no trespassing sign, opened the gate to her fenced yard and was seen peering inside the house, according to an arrest report.
Moments later, he then tried to open a locked back door before leaving the scene — just two minutes before officers arrived, the report stated.
“I have no idea what his intentions towards me were, so I’m disgusted,” the woman said. “I haven’t slept in my home since Thursday.”
Investigators said Pinkney matched the description provided by the victim — bald or with a shaved head, light-skinned, possibly Hispanic, and wearing a white shirt.
Local 10 News has learned that a day after that incident, Miami police say Pinkney broke into another home and assaulted a woman while she was in bed.
According to MPD, officers were dispatched just after 1:30 a.m. on May 16 to a home near the 3400 block of Williams Avenue in Coconut Grove following reports of an occupied burglary.
The victim told detectives she was asleep in her bedroom when she woke up to find a man, who police identified as Pinkney, standing near her door.
The victim in that case said Pinkney said made disturbing comments and touched her without consent before fleeing with her cellphone, according to the report.
She also said Pinkney had exposed himself and asked her to search for pornography after breaking into her home, according to investigators. That case is being prosecuted as an assault and burglary, not as a sexual battery, the report stated.
Officers patrolling the area later spotted Pinkney, who they said matched the suspect’s description walking near the intersection of Southwest 37th Avenue and Williams Avenue.
Investigators say he had the victim‘s stolen iPhone and a pillowcase allegedly used during the crime.
Authorities also confirmed that Pinkney is also facing additional burglary charges in connection with a vehicle burglary at a Coral Gables parking garage that occurred on April 12.
According to police, two women found a man — later identified as Pinkney — sitting inside a 2018 Jeep Wrangler parked on the second floor of a garage at 220 Aragon Avenue.
One of the women told police that her mother had left a wallet and keys in the vehicle. When she confronted Pinkney, he got out but initially tried to keep her red debit card, photographs and pepper spray, according to the report.
Police said the woman demanded the items back, and he returned the card. The woman told police Pinkney claimed he tossed the other items back into the vehicle.
Officers arrived minutes later and detained Pinkney, who was found with a white Tommy Hilfiger backpack bearing a Ross tag — matching the description given by the victims.
A pat-down revealed two burnt glass pipes with suspected narcotics residue, police said. He was arrested and booked into jail following a positive ID.
Jail records show Pinkney is being held on charges in all three cases that include burglary with assault or battery, third-degree grand theft, indecent exposure, burglary of an occupied dwelling, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use.
He appeared in bond court Wednesday afternoon and was ordered to be held without bond at the Metrowest Detention Center. The judge also ordered him to stay away from the woman, her home, and her workplace.
