The incident was reported April 29 at Sunshine Towing, located at 7070 SW 12th St.

According to the suspect’s arrest report, Monserrat Rivera, of Tamarac, went to the business to retrieve the vehicle, which had been towed from an undisclosed location.

Deputies said Rivera was spotted in an “employees only” lot where towed vehicles are parked, entering via the rear gate, which was open.

According to the report, Rivera then entered an office, which was also in an “employees only” area, where she got into an argument with an employee.

Deputies said Rivera pushed the employee with her left arm as the employee was walking towards her, leading her towards the exit door of the facility.

Deputies said the entire incident was captured on the company’s security cameras.

According to the report, Rivera surrendered herself to authorities Wednesday at the MDSO Midwest District Station, where she invoked her right to counsel.

She was arrested on charges of burglary with assault or battery, burglary of an occupied structure and battery.
