WILTON MANORS, Fla. – A little more than a month after an armed robbery occurred at a Wilton Manors smoke shop, another store has fallen victim to thieves.
This time, a group of vandals was caught on camera breaking into the Vape and Smoke Shop located along the 2600 block of North Dixie Highway.
“It hurts,” said store owner Elena Carmona. ”It’s impactful because you put so much work into it.”
It happened just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Video shows a group of four people smashing the front window, and within 20 seconds, they made off with more than $1,500 dollars-worth of vapes.
“Anger,” said Carmona. “I’m kind of upset, hurt because it is my business and it is a loss. It’s just sadness because these guys, or these kids, are coming in a blindly robbing the place for vapes.”
This latest incident comes about a month after a terrifying situation at nearby World of Smoke and Vape.
An employee there was held at gunpoint in the early morning hours of April 17. In that case, the crooks made off with nearly $900 in merchandise.
Two people were arrested about a week later for the crime.
