Man rescued from waters in Biscayne National Park

Miami-Dade County, Fla. — A man was rescued after being pulled from the waters near Elliott Key in Biscayne National Park on Friday afternoon following a reported drowning that prompted a large-scale rescue response, authorities confirmed.

The call initially came in as a possible drowning, launching a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Video from Sky 10 captured emergency crews responding in the waters off the southwest coast of Miami-Dade near the popular island key.

Authorities said one person was rescued and taken by boat to a nearby transport point, where a helicopter was waiting to airlift the individual to the hospital.

The condition of the victim has not been released.
