FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale, authorities confirmed.

Jail records show Jamaul Radesh Johnson, 35, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of murder without premeditation.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, officers responded to the 100 block of South Andrews Avenue just before 5:15 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports about a stabbing.
Police said officers found an injured man at the scene. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, where he died.
Police said Wednesday that they are withholding the victim’s identity as they work to notify his next-of-kin.
A motive for the stabbing remains unclear, however Johnson said in bond court Wednesday that he was defending himself.
He has been ordered held without bond.
As of Wednesday afternoon, he remained at the Broward County Main Jail.
