The boat was docked behind a home in the 2600 block of Whale Harbor Lane when it caught fire at around 11 a.m.

No one was aboard or injured, fire officials said. Residents recorded video of the fire on their phones after calling 911.

“So I came outside, and then I saw smoke from the engine, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. Is that fire?’” a young resident named Angelina said. “And then I rushed inside to go tell him. And then, well, it just started smoking more and more ― then fire."

Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were assessing the damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
