According to police, 31-year-old Dylan Segula was driving his black Chevy Corvette along Sheridan Street near 119th Avenue in Pembroke Pines at approximately 11:03 p.m. on Dec. 15 when he crossed over the median and slammed into a vehicle going the opposite direction.

Segula was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, as was a woman who was in the vehicle he hit, according to authorities.

That victim remained hospitalized for several days after suffering multiple rib fractures, a pulmonary contusion, a spinal compression fracture and an ankle fracture, police said.

Investigators determined that Segula’s blood-alcohol level was 0.157 percent, nearly twice the legal limit, and that his vehicle was traveling at speeds above 85 miles per hour four seconds prior to the crash.

He has since been arrested on a bevy of charges, including multiple DUI-related felonies.
