Christian Orosco and Jimmy Schwarz got into an argument at about 11:30 p.m., on Nov. 28, 1996, in West Little River, according to deputies.

Orosco, 18, a gang member, pulled out a gun and shot Schwartz, 23, at the Mobile gas station at 3201 NW 79 St., according to deputies.

“Friends of the victim drove him to Hialeah Hospital, where he was airlifted by then Metro-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) to JMH Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition,” Detective Angel Rodriguez said in a statement.

Schwartz died and Orosco fled and vanished.

The Peruvian National Police received a tip: Eduardo Enrique Albarracín Trillo was dead.

The man who was using his identity to work as a Peruvian government air traffic controller at Jorge Chavez International Airport was a wanted fugitive.

The Peruvian National Police sent a message to Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies with the homicide bureau’s cold case squad.

“Investigators are currently in Peru, speaking with witnesses and working with our federal partners,” Rodriguez said about the FBI and the Department of Justice.
