Luis Guillermo Alvarez, 55, joins 19-year-old Jaylen Lavar Fisher in facing second-degree murder charges in the death of Christopher Shannon Allen in the 1400 block of Northwest Second Court.
Miami-Dade deputies said the killing happened just before 11:30 p.m. on May 25.
An arrest report states that Fisher shot Allen, 54, after an unspecified dispute.
Deputies said Alvarez, who is homeless, then joined in “and began to kick (Allen) several times before arming himself with a brick and striking (him) in his head.”
The report states that an associate medical examiner later classified Allen’s cause of death as both “blunt force trauma and gunshot wounds.”
Deputies arrested Fisher on June 2 and arrested Alvarez on Saturday.
Investigators haven’t said whether or how Allen, Fisher or Alvarez knew each other before the incident.
Jail records show that both men were being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday morning.
