NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting that occurred Monday night in North Miami Beach, police confirmed.
According to North Miami Beach police, the shooting was reported in the area of 2041 NE 161st St.
A Local 10 News photojournalist was at the scene following the shooting and saw that a second-floor apartment unit had its door open.
Police said the shooting might have occurred inside the unit.
“There’s a lot going on, stress going on, anything can happen,” neighbor Smith Mondesir said. “This is not what I want. This is not what I want for this generation, this is not what I want for the neighborhood, this is not what I want for everyone living here.”
According to police, both men were transported to a local hospital, but one succumbed to his injuries.
No other details were immediately released.
