NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A SWAT raid at a North Miami Beach smoke shop Tuesday led to the arrests of six people, including the store’s owners.
Police said they found more than 4,000 grams of illegal cannabis, four loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and a significant amount of cash at Omo-T Smoke Shop, located at 1549 NE 164th St.
Among the arrests were store owners Stanford Forbes, 57, and Maguitte Forbes, 53, both of northeast Miami-Dade. The two are facing five felony charges each, including armed cannabis sales.
The others arrested on various charges, most employees, were Maximus Dieuveil, 24, of North Miami; Jacques Fleury, 33, of Miramar; Robert Alexander Ramos, 25, of North Miami Beach; and Eddy Oriol Royer, 36, of North Miami.
All were taken to jail. Stanford Forbes, a Bahamian national, was also behind bars on an immigration hold.
Authorities said their investigation is active and ongoing.
