Miami Gardens woman faces grand theft auto charge after arrest in Opa-locka

WALISHA WADLEY Walisha Wadley faced charges in Miami-Dade County after a pursuit while she was driving a Honda Accord that was reported stolen in Palm Beach County, records show.

MIAMI — Deputies in a Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office helicoper recently followed Walisha Wadley, who was driving a white Honda Accord stolen in Palm Beach County, according to deputies.

Wadley, 37, was at York Street and Northwest 27 Avenue on Saturday when Opa-locka police officers rushed to find her, according to police.

Police officers stopped Wadley, of Miami Gardens, and arrested her at about 10 a.m., along State Road 9 eastbound, near Northwest 22 Avenue, according to a police arrest report.

Police officers seized the Honda Accord, which had been reported stolen in Palm Beach County, according to Miami-Dade deputies.

Miami-Dade County court records show prosecutors filed a case against Wadley on Sunday for grand theft auto, and corrections released her on a $5,000 bond.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Allan Zullinger was set to preside over the case.
