MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A fire bomb maker used a glass bottle of Kahlúa, a coffee liquor, stuffed a piece of cloth, and filled it with metal screws and an ignitable liquid, according to Miami-Dade County deputies
Angel Cedeno appeared in bond court on Tuesday, and prosecutors filed a Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office felony case against him on four counts of fire bomb possession, records show.
Deputies first met Cedeno on July 16 after responding to the Law Office of Trujillo, at 11401 SW 40 St., over his alleged “threats to burn his vehicle with his children inside,” according to a deputy’s report.
M-DCSO deputies detained Cedeno, who said he feared being separated from the children, and escorted him to get a mental health evaluation at Keralty Hospital in Coral Terrace, according to the deputy’s report.
On July 17, M-DCSO deputies responded to a call for help from a woman who said she was outside the law office to pick up Cedeno’s parked car, and she saw the explosive when she opened the door, records show.
The M-DCSO bomb squad responded, seized the Molotov cocktail from inside Cedeno’s car, and “conducted a safety sweep,” a deputy reported.
On Monday, a federal agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and four deputies met with Cedeno at the hospital before a doctor discharged him.
Deputies arrested Cedeno, who was born in Venezuela and lives in southwestern Miami-Dade County, according to the arrest report.
Corrections booked Cedeno on Monday night at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. A judge set his bond at $10,000 on Tuesday and ordered him to stay away from the two children and their mother.
Inmate records show Cedeno also had a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Michelle Delancy was set to preside over the criminal case.
