BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — NBA star Marcus Morris Sr. was arrested Sunday in South Florida and is being held on an out of state hold, Local 10 News learned Monday.
Online jail records show Morris, 35, was arrested at an airport in Broward County on a fraud – insufficient funds check charge.
The charge is apparently related to a casino debt.
As of Monday morning, Morris was being held at the Broward County Main Jail as he awaits extradition.
His agent, Yony Noy, said the incident in question isn’t fraud at all, but just an unpaid casino marker worth more than $1,200.
In a post on X, he called the arrest “absolute insanity,” adding there was “zero fraud.”
Just so everyone understands this is zero fraud here or whatever crap outlets have said regarding fake checks or whatever the hell. This is due to an outstanding marker with a casino. Apparently if you have over $1,200 they can issue a warrant for your arrest. Absolute insanity! https://t.co/nLT5uCGMcT

Local 10 News is working on obtaining more details about Morris’ arrest and the fraud charge he now faces.
The 13-year NBA veteran was drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2011 and last played in the 2023-2024 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers.
According to TMZ, Morris has had a few legal issues in the past, including arrests for assault and battery.
His brother, Keef Morris, took to social media Sunday to comment on the NBA star’s arrest.
The wording is crazy. Damn for that amount of money they’ll embarrass you in the airport with your family. They got y’all really thinking bro did some fraud shit. They could have came to the crib for all that. When y’all hear the real story on this shit man. All I can say is…
