Triple shooting outside Fort Lauderdale Wawa under investigation

Terri Williams spoke to Local 10 News after capturing the aftermath of the shooting while on a Facetime call after paramedics were called.

Williams says she driving with her 1-year-old brother in the car when they both watched a man shoot at least 10 times into a white BMW.

“He’s crying and saying pow, pow. That traumatized him a lot,” she said. “It happened in broad daylight -- so openly. He was defenseless (and) screaming for help.”

“He just walked up and started shooting at the man while the man was sitting in his car with the door closed and the window up. He tried to run away, but somehow the gentleman was able to fire back and ended up shooting him in the leg,” Williams added.

Theresa Petersen was eating at the nearby Arby’s when the shots rang out and shortly after, a man rushed in.

“He had blood on his hands, maybe he had gotten grazed by a bullet,” said Petersen. “He said they started shooting and he just ran. We don’t know what transpired for that to happen.

Wawa employees said they are thankful for the swift response of local law enforcement and that their staff is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Police did not announce any arrests, but officers did say that there was no threat to the public and that the shooters were in custody.

Authorities have not provided an update on the condition of the three victims as of Friday morning.

They said the investigation remains open and active.
