Sky 10 was above the scene at 4700 NW 128th St. just after 3:30 p.m. as heavy smoke was coming from the warehouse.

Miami-Dade firefighters said the blaze has since been extinguished. They confirmed the fire was isolated to the roof of the structure.

It appears the warehouse was under construction for an engineering contractor called GPE.

The building is located just over a mile away from Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.

Even though firefighters put the fire out quickly, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Capt. George Khabbaz explained why the flames may have been so intense.

“Because of modern construction materials, often it means a lot of smoke and fire,” he said. “But thankfully, we were able to put it out rather quickly.”

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
