FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale.
According to authorities, it happened at approximately 7:21 a.m. along the 800 block of Northwest First Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers said they found a woman who was injured. She was rushed by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma alert, police said.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, the department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to work with crime scene investigators with gathering information and evidence.
Police said the shooting appears to be isolated in nature and that there is no threat to the community.
No arrests have been announced and police did not say whether they had detained anyone or taken anyone into custody.
