MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — As students return to class on Aug. 14, Miami-Dade County Parks is launching a new season of afterschool programs designed to keep kids active, engaged and thriving outside of school.

Running through June 4, 2026, the county’s afterschool offerings include fitness, academic support, arts, and inclusive recreation. Program highlights include:

  • Fit2Play: For youth ages 6–14, this weekly program focuses on fitness, nutrition and enrichment activities to help build healthy habits and confidence. Cost: $35 per week, plus a $15 registration fee.
  • The Children’s Trust Afterschool Program: Offered free of charge (excluding a $15 registration fee) at select parks, this option includes arts, STEM, sports and more.
  • Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion (TRI): A free program for youth and teens with disabilities, led by certified staff at six park locations, designed to provide an inclusive and supportive experience.

Each program offers a safe and welcoming space for kids to learn, grow and “live a park life” every afternoon.
