ATLANTA, Ga. — The Miami Marlins entered Saturday with a chance to win yet another series, but the Atlanta Braves swept both games of the doubleheader, 7-1 and 8-6, handing Miami a series loss ahead of Sunday’s finale.

In the first game, the Marlins fell behind early in right-hander Ryan Gusto’s debut start for Miami.

They never held a lead, as the Braves were powered by rookie Hurston Waldrep and Michael Harris II.

In the nightcap, ace Sandy Alcantara allowed five runs over five innings, including both of Marcell Ozuna’s home runs. Alcantara’s ERA rose to 6.55.

The second game was much closer, thanks to Xavier Edwards and Heriberto Hernandez, who each drove in two runs for the Marlins.

Rookie Jakob Marsee went 2-for-2 with two walks and is now batting .448 through his first 10 major league games.

Right-hander Cal Quantrill (4-9, 5.21 ERA) is scheduled to start for Miami in Sunday’s series finale against Braves left-hander Joey Wentz (2-3, 5.34).
