FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Coast woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she posed as a licensed nurse and provided medical care to thousands of patients without proper credentials.
Jail records show Autumn Bardisa, 29, was arrested last week following a seven-month investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway, state health officials and federal investigators.
Deputies say Bardisa was hired in July 2023 as an advanced nurse technician and later provided a false license number belonging to another nurse with the same first name. She claimed a name change due to marriage but never provided documentation.
The hospital terminated Bardisa in January 2025 after a co-worker questioned her credentials. Investigators say she treated 4,486 patients between June 2024 and January 2025 without ever holding a valid nursing license.
Jail records show Bardisa was arrested on Aug. 5 on seven counts of practicing without a license and seven counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. She posted a bond of $72,000 after being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
“This is one of the most disturbing cases of medical fraud we’ve ever investigated,” Sheriff Rick Staly said.
Authorities are asking anyone who believes they were affected to contact them at fakenursecase@flaglersheriff.com.
