Newlywed accused of domestic violence while armed with knives, gun in Miami

Felon faces attempted murder charge

Cyrstal Lee Police officers arrested Crystal Lee on Friday in Miami and she remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday without bond, records show.

MIAMI — Crystal Lee was armed with a gun, a knife, and a hunting knife when she tried to kill a victim she had been married to for just about two months, according to the Miami Police Department.

The Florida Department of Corrections had last released Lee -- a felon with convictions in Broward, Levy, and Marion counties -- from prison about 24 years ago, records show.

Lee was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday after Miami police officers arrested her on Friday at Northwest 17 Avenue and 57 Street in Model City, records show.

The domestic violence incident was at about 8:35 p.m., on Friday, at an apartment at Northeast 62 Street and Fourth Court, in Miami’s Upper East Side neighborhood near Little Haiti, according to the arrest report.

Miami Fire Rescue personnel took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center with wounds to both arms, according to a police officer’s arrest report.

Lee appeared in bond court on Saturday, and a judge ordered her to stay away from the victim and denied her bond, according to Miami-Dade County court records.

Miami-Dade prosecutors filed a case against Lee on Saturday on charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and battery, records show. Her pre-trial detention hearing is at 9 a.m., on Aug. 20.
