According to Miami Beach police, robbery detectives from the Miami Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division worked in coordination with the City of Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade and Broward Sheriff’s Offices to identify the suspects --Dwight Gustave, 30, and Adria Banks,41.

Police said the suspects are responsible for at least three armed robberies in Miami Beach and one in Miami.

“The investigation revealed that the suspects surveilled victims as they departed nightclubs in both cities,” an MBPD news release stated. “The victims were followed to their destinations, where they were robbed at gunpoint.”

According to police, in one case, the suspects robbed a victim of an Audemars Piguet Skeleton watch, valued at about $60,000. Another stolen Audemars Piguet watch was valued at about $140,000.

“Those who come to Miami Beach with the intent to commit crime will be identified and apprehended,” Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne A. Jones said in a statement. “This successful investigation highlights the vigilance and professionalism of our detectives, and we are deeply grateful to the City of Miami Police Department and the Miami-Dade and Broward Sheriff’s Offices for their outstanding partnership.”

Police confirmed that Banks was arrested in Broward County and Gustave in Miami-Dade County.

“A search warrant at the residence of Dwight Gustave was executed, where detectives recovered a Rolex Sky-Dweller watch valued at approximately $20,000, an Audemars Piguet Skeleton watch valued at approximately $140,000, and $16,400 in U.S. currency—a combined recovery of more than $176,000 in stolen property,” the news release stated. “Detectives also recovered clothing and a ski mask matching items worn by the suspects during the robberies, as captured on surveillance video.”

According to police, Gustave had previously been arrested by the MBPD in 2020 for other robberies.

Banks, meanwhile, is currently serving probation for high-end jewelry thefts totaling more than $500,000, police said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Gustave was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on multiple counts of armed robbery. His bond was listed in online jail records as “to be set.”

Banks, meanwhile, was no longer showing up in the online jail database for Broward County. She faces numerous charges, including burglary, burglary with assault, grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, probation violation and driving with a suspended license.

The Miami Beach Police Department urges anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Gustave or Banks to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
