MARGATE, Fla. — A 7-year-old was bitten multiple times by a household dog Wednesday in Margate, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at a home near the 5500 block of Lakewood Circle South just after 11:30 a.m.
Margate police said the child’s injuries are severe but do not appear to be life-threatening.
They said the Broward Sheriff’s Office air rescue transported the child to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated.
Sky 10 flew over the scene around noon, where a man was sitting and holding a dog on a leash that appeared to be a Husky mix while officers surveilled the area.
No other details about the child’s gender or the attack were immediately released.
