MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies swarmed an apartment building in west Miami-Dade on Tuesday.
Officials with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they were in the midst of a shooting investigation at the building off Northwest 72nd Avenue and Third Street, southeast of the Dolphin-Palmetto interchange.
Medics took an injured patient to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. His or her condition wasn’t released.
One resident reported hearing about “seven or eight” gunshots.
Authorities shut down traffic at Northwest 72nd Avenue and Flagler Street.
Officials with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office were expected to provide additional information on Tuesday evening.
