PLANTATION, Fla. — A Plantation neighborhood was rocked by gunfire, and surveillance video captured the moments gunman jumped out of a car and sprayed bullets on a home.
It happened just after 12 p.m. Wednesday along the 4800 block of Northwest First Street.
6 p.m. report:
In the video, four people are seeing getting out of a blue-grey Mercedes Benz GLE 450 coupe and shoot multiple times towards a rental house.
Plantation police said the Mercedes had a Florida tag and was reported stolen out of Miami Gardens.
Police believe the people inside are connected to a separate shooting on Interstate 95.
About 45 minutes after the Plantation shooting, Florida Highway Patrol says someone in a Mercedes SUV shot a grey BMW and white Dodge ram.
Sky 10 was flying over the scene as troopers investigated the incident.
Local 10 News’ Magdala Louissant spoke with a neighbor who asked not to be identified.
She said she was surprised to hear it was a shooting and that she thought it was a car backfiring.
“I just thought it was cars driving and they go pop, pop, pop,” she said. “That’s what i thought it was.”
As for the motive for the shooting, Plantation police say they don’t know what prompted the gunfire because the people in the rental aren’t cooperating.
Officers say they’re all from Miami Gardens.
Regarding the shooting on the interstate, Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
