MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crew rescued four people stranded on a capsized boat in the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend.
According to MDFR, the U.S. Coast Guard asked the agency to assist in finding a vessel in distress at around 4 p.m. Sunday, about seven miles off Haulover Beach.
Firefighters found four people sitting on top of the 25-foot boat, which had capsized and was taking on water. MDFR shared video of the rescue.
The fireboat crew brought them to shore. No one was hurt.
“MDFR reminds those who are planning to go boating to always check weather conditions before heading out on the water, file a float plan and have a VHF radio tuned into channel 16 to signal for help if an emergency occurs,” an MDFR spokesperson said.
