Officer Sthephany Canizares was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and discharging a firearm in public or on residential property.

Court records show the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrested the 27-year-old cop, who was pictured in her booking photo wearing what appeared to be a hospital gown.

Further details about what led up to Canizares’ arrest weren’t immediately available Monday afternoon.

An MPD spokesperson said Canizares “has been relieved of duty with pay, pending the outcome of an active investigation.”

As of Monday afternoon, records show she was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,500 bond.
