HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — Authorities say GEICO Insurance began investigating after a West Palm Beach woman said she had her Range Rover stolen from the parking lot of a Hallandale Beach strip club in 2022 and filed a claim for the SUV, valued at $146,315.

But it turned out that she didn’t live in West Palm Beach ― let alone in Florida ― the theft never happened and it appears the Range Rover in question didn’t even exist, investigators with the Florida Department of Financial Services say.

Tiffany Sapphire Noakes, 39, of West Orange, New Jersey, is now facing two felonies in Broward County, records show.

Authorities said Noakes claimed the 2020 Range Rover was stolen from the Cheetah Gentlemen’s Club at 100 Ansin Blvd. while she visited with friends and reported the supposed theft to Hallandale Beach police on May 1, 2022.

Court documents filed in 2024 state that she filed a claim with GEICO four days later.

But authorities said an investigator with the insurance company soon discovered that Noakes’ West Palm Beach address on her policy was actually just a UPS Store.

Authorities said cellphone records show she made the insurance claim while in New Jersey and said that video from license plate cameras on Bird Road in southwest Miami-Dade showed the vehicle’s claimed license plate was not attached to a Range Rover.

Additionally, they said the vehicle’s VIN couldn’t be found in Land Rover’s database.

It’s unclear whether GEICO paid the six-figure claim. Authorities said the company gave her a $1,500 car rental reimbursement check.

Records show Noakes was taken into custody on Thursday and remained jailed in Broward County on charges of insurance fraud of $100,000 or more and grand theft as of Monday.

Broward Sheriff’s Office records show she was behind bars in the North Broward Bureau jail facility on a $60,000 bond.
