Henry Quintero, 43, faces one count each of leaving the scene of a crash with no serious injury, DUI with refusal to submit to testing, and reckless driving, according to jail records obtained by Local 10 News on Wednesday.

Local 10 News has learned that Quintero has since posted his bond of $2,800.

Florida City police said the crash occurred Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. at U.S. 1 and East Palm Drive.

They said Quintero’s vehicle struck another car, causing it to overturn and collide with a third vehicle.

Witnesses followed and documented Quintero fleeing the scene, and traffic camera footage confirmed he was traveling at a high rate of speed, ran a red light, and continued through southbound lanes before turning east on East Palm Drive without rendering aid, according to his arrest report.

Investigators said Quintero showed signs that “indicated of impairment,” including a strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. They said he also refused to submit to field sobriety tests and a breath test.

A passenger in one of the vehicles sustained multiple lacerations and required fire rescue, the report stated.

Authorities said Quintero was transported to Jackson West Medical Center for an evaluation, but refused treatment and declined any blood testing. They also confirmed that body-worn video footage was used and citations were issued.

Local 10 News has reached out to the Homestead Police Department for comment on his arrest.
