‘Beyond Links’ marketplace empowers students with special needs

Beyond Links Marketplace opens, empowering students with special needs through handcrafted goods

MIAMI — The Beyond Links Marketplace opened its doors to a packed house, celebrating handcrafted goods made by students from Learning Links Academy, a school for those with special needs.

From candles to soaps and charcuterie boards, every item reflects the creativity and hard work of these students.

“It makes me happy that people can see and use the things we made,” said student David Guerra.

More than just a store, Beyond Links offers students purpose, training, and a path toward employment.

“They may not be ready for independent work, but with the right coaching, they can succeed,” said staff member Yarisa Echevarria.

Parents, like Angely Angel, were moved by the opportunity the store gives their children. “We want our kids to be part of the community, not on the sidelines,” she said.

The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 7 PM, and Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 4 PM.
