MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. — The Miami Springs Police Department announced the arrest of Tania Blanco after accusing her of stealing packages that had been delivered to residents’ front doors.
After a resident reported a blond thief had stolen a package, it took police officers less than 15 hours to identify and arrest Tania Blanco, according to the department.
Blanco, 38, had 5 grams of meth in the car when officers found her and arrested her on Wednesday, according to police officers, who also credited the Hialeah Police Department, an alert neighbor, and surveillance video with helping to solve the case.
Miami-Dade County court records show prosecutors filed a case against Blanco for possession of a controlled substance and third-degree grand theft of property valued at more than $40 and less than $750 involving a dwelling. A judge set her bond at $5,000.
Court records also show Blanco has a case pending after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper accused her of providing false information on April 28. Her arrest record includes Miami-Dade deputies accusing her of petit theft on Jan. 3, 2009, and June 29, 2024.
The court set Blanco’s arraignment hearing for the Miami Springs case for 9 a.m. on Nov. 10. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch is set to preside over the case.
