MIAMI — Miami police are investigating a shooting Friday night after they said a ShotSpotter alert led officers to a car riddled with bullets.
Police said the alert came in around 8:30 p.m. near Northwest 16th Avenue and 47th Street.
Upon arrival, officers said they found an unoccupied car with apparent gunfire damage but no victims at the scene.
A short time later, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office notified investigators that two men had arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital, including one who had been shot.
Police later confirmed that the man who was shot was pronounced dead.
No other details about the shooting were immediately released.
