LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. — For the second time in less than 24 hours, a man has been hospitalized after a shooting in Lauderdale Lakes, according to authorities.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue said medics responded around 2:45 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting near the 3400 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard.
Fire rescue officials said a man was transported as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting or whether any arrests have been made.
Friday night, another man was wounded in a separate shooting in the 4700 block of Northwest 24th Court. Deputies said that victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities said two people were detained in connection with Friday’s shooting.
One of them, 23-year-old Denarius Artison, faces a charge of attempted murder and is being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail, according to jail records.
The investigation into both shootings remains ongoing.
