Lauderdale-by-the-Sea bike shop burglar sought after $1,900 stolen, door smashed

Suspect sought in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea bike shop burglary Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives asked for the public’s help in identifying the person or people who they said broke into a local bike shop last month.

LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA., Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives asked for the public’s help Monday in identifying the person or people who they said broke into a local bike shop last month, shattering the front door and stealing $1,900 in cash.

Deputies said the burglary happened around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Pedrito’s Bike Shop, located at 238 Commercial Blvd, in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found the glass front door smashed, the cash register open and all the money missing.

Investigators said the burglar appears to have tattoos along the upper portions of both arms.
