MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man who had gotten away from police officers in July after a woman accused him of kidnapping was arrested and appeared in court on Friday in Miami-Dade County.
Homestead police officers had arrested Paul Frantz at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday at his home in Miami-Dade County’s Leisure City area, according to an arrest report.
A woman said Frantz, whom she had considered a friend, had kidnapped her at gunpoint from her home, and made her drive him around on July 21 in Homestead and Florida City, according to the police arrest report.
The woman said Frantz, whom she had never been in a relationship with, took her gun and her cell phone out of her purse, and when she flagged down police officers, he ran away, according to police officers.
Homestead police officers set up a perimeter, but they could not find Frantz, who faced charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, and resisting an officer without violence.
Court records show his pre-trial detention hearing is on Oct. 27 and his arraignment hearing is on Nov. 24. A judge denied him bond and ordered him to stay away from the victim.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Ariel Rodriguez was set to preside over the case.
