Miami man faces federal charge over murders in Maryland

David Turner A federal grand jury indicted David Turner, federal prosecutors announced on Thursday.

MIAMI — Federal prosecutors announced on Thursday that a grand jury had indicted a 35-year-old Miami man for two murders.

Detectives accused David Turner of traveling to the Lake Linganore area in Maryland to fatally shoot his ex-wife, Crimea Baker, and her partner Sean Lange at their home on Aug. 25, 2024.

Baker’s four children were in the home in New Market when Turner broke in and shot Baker and Lange in an upstairs bedroom, according to Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, announced that Turner faced a federal charge of interstate travel to commit domestic violence resulting in death and use of a firearm during a crime of violence resulting in death.

The FBI, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, and the Miami Beach, Hialeah Gardens, and Fort Lauderdale police departments worked on Turner’s case.
