MIAMI — A woman and three men faced charges on Friday after police officers arrested them in Miami and accused two of them of a violent robbery inside the Dolphin Mall in Sweetwater, records show.
A man said he was shopping at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday at Dolphin Mall when two men attacked him near Burlington, according to a police report.
Deputies identified the duo as Jairo Morales and Jacob Morales, who stole the victim’s jewelry valued at $3,000 and ran, records show.
Jairo Morales, 21, also known as Jairo Javier Ramon Morales Cotal, and Jacob Morales, 26, also known as Jacob Jorkaef Ricardo Morales Cotal, fled with Cherry Gomez and Bastian Rojas in a white 2025 BMW X6, records show.
After the group sold the stolen jewelry at a pawnshop for $3,000 in cash, police officers stopped them at Southwest 57 Avenue and Second Street, records show.
In the BMW, police officers found the group had more jewelry and about $31,636 in cash, according to detectives.
Inmate records show correctional deputies booked Jairo Morales at 3:45 a.m. on Friday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He faced charges of strong-arm robbery, dealing in stolen property, and battery. His bond was $15,000.
Inmate records show correctional deputies booked Jacob Morales at 3:50 a.m. on Friday at TGKCC. He faced a charge of strong-arm robbery.
Correctional deputies booked Rojas, also known as Bastian Alexander Rojas Muñoz, at 3:50 a.m. on Friday at TGKCC. He faced a charge of accessory after the fact and dealing with stolen property. His bond was $1,000.
Correctional deputies booked Gomez, 28, also known as Cherry Yuyunis Gomez Valenzuela, at 4 a.m. on Friday at TGKCC. She faced a charge of accessory after the fact. Her bond was $1,000.
Rojas and Gomez had a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
