MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies reported searching for a woman on Wednesday and arresting her accomplice on Tuesday after a pet store burglary in Miami-Dade County’s West End area, records show.

Surveillance video shows Nataly Bendana and Janet Gonzalez on Tuesday at the Fur Baby Puppies Pet Shop in the Kendale Lakes neighborhood, according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., Bendana, 37, and Gonzalez, 33, broke into the store at 13925 SW 66 St. and stole 18 golden doodle puppies valued at $45,000 and designer sneakers valued at $17,000, according to deputies.

Bendana, who lives in Homestead, “provided verbal and written statements implicating her involvement in the crime,” a M-DSO deputy wrote, according to an arrest report.

Surveillance video shows Bendana and Gonzalez leaving the store at 4:55 p.m., and deputies responded shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to M-DSO deputies.

Bendana returned to the store, deputies detained her and took her to the Hammocks Police Station for questioning at 7:30 p.m., and they arrested her shortly after 8:40 p.m., records show.

Miami-Dade corrections booked Bendana early Wednesday morning at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.

Miami-Dade prosecutors filed a case against Bendana on felony charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and third-degree grand theft.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer ordered her to stay away from the store and set her bond at $5,000.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Carmen Cabarga was set to preside over the case.
