Davie police: 19-year-old duo stole from 16 cars, fled in stolen car, crashed

CRIME IN BROWARD: Police officers arrested Armaun Livingston on Wednesday in Davie.

DAVIE, Fla. — Two 19-year-old men with criminal records faced dozens of charges on Thursday in Broward County after police officers accused them of breaking into parked cars in Davie, records showed.

Armaun Livingston, who has a history of auto theft cases that include two dozen arrests, faced 41 new charges. Jamarcus Rollins, who has a history of burglary cases, faced 28 new charges.

“Davie Police units conducted an area canvas and located approximately (16) vehicles ... windows were shattered ... rummaged through,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest reports.

Livingston and Rollins were in a stolen Hyundai Elantra SEL when police officers ordered them to stop early Wednesday morning in Davie, and they fled, crashed into two parked cars, and ran, according to police.

“Livingston ran northeast and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit ... Rollins was apprehended by K9 Shannon ... not close from the bailout location,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest reports.

Broward Sheriff’s Office correctional deputies booked Livingston and Rollins at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale, according to inmate records.

Livingston faced charges of grand theft auto, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, leave scene of crash involving damage to property, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, two counts of aggravated fleeing with damage, and 16 counts of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.

Livingston also faced six counts of grand theft, four counts of petit theft, two counts of leaving the scene of a crash with unattended property, exceeding the speed limit by 50+ mph, two counts of failure to stop and remain at an accident scene, and two counts of failing to submit a written accident report.

Rollins faced charges of 16 counts of unarmed burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, six counts of grand theft, four counts of petit theft, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
