Deputies ask public for help with solving fatal shooting

WEST PERRINE, Fla. — Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives were searching for a 21-year-old man’s killer on Thursday, and they need the public’s help.

Kenneth Walters Jr. was shot shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday near Homestead Avenue and West Guava Street in West Perrine, according to deputies.

After deputies reported finding Walter bleeding on the ground after a Shot Spotter alert, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took him to Jackson South Medical Center, where he died.

During a news conference, Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera, a spokesman for the M-DSO, asked the public to surrender any videos or photos related to the murder.

Peguero Rivera said it can be done anonymously by using this link to submit the evidence.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
