Miami hosts meeting for residents to talk about Ultra Music Festival

Future of Ultra Music Festival to be discussed Thursday

MIAMI — Miami officials plan to host a meeting to discuss the future of the Ultra Music Festival, which started as a beach day in 1999 at Collins Park.

UMF continued last weekend as a three-day festival in Downtown Miami. Electronic Dance Music fans from all over the world enjoyed seven stages.

UMF secured a five-year lease with the city to continue to host the event at Bayfront Park through 2027. The meeting welcomes residents’ input.

Some of the inconveniences for residents include changes in traffic flow on Biscayne Boulevard and noise so loud that the glass windows of surrounding high-rise buildings vibrate.

The community meeting is at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Miami Dade College Live Arts Theater at Building 1’s Room 1101 at 300 Northeast 2nd Ave.
