MIAMI — The owner of Silver Court, a mobile home park near a cemetery in Miami’s Little Havana, sent eviction notices to about 200 residents.
Mario Molina, who rents a room at a mobile home, said most of his neighbors are vulnerable retirees, and some live with disabilities.
“It’s heartbreaking,” Molina said.
Dario Miranda, who has been renting a mobile home at the park, at 3170 SW 8 St., for about 25 years, said he can’t afford to move out.
The deadline to move out is Sept. 30, but those who move out by May 31 will receive $10,000 in relocation payments, according to Attorney Jorge Piedra, who represents the property owner.
“The owner is focused on complying with the law, treating residents with respect, and providing relocation assistance that exceeds what the law requires so that families can transition to the next chapter of their lives with support and dignity,” said Piedra, a managing partner at Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton.
Piedra said that residents who don’t abide by the eviction’s deadline will hurt their credit reports.
The eviction notice reported that the Florida Mobile Home Relocation Corporation was ready to assist the residents affected by a change in land use.

The Silver Court Mobile Home Park is no longer viable as a mobile home park, with mobile home structures suffering from ailments including old age, storm damage, and deterioration.
The owner has made the difficult decision to close the property as a mobile home park and change the use of the park. Residents should work with the Urban Group, whose professionals are onsite to give them the facts and assistance they need.
The owner is approaching this transition with care and compassion, offering residents who agree to move out by May 31 generous cash relocation payments of $10K that exceed Florida’s statutory requirements, along with professional help to identify relocation options and move forward.
