FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Firefighters declared a cat and a bearded dragon dead on Friday during a house fire in Fort Lauderdale.

The house was on fire shortly before 10:20 a.m. along the 1300 block of Northwest Third Court, according to the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel.

Firefighters found one person inside the home who wasn’t injured and rescued a pet tortoise that required oxygen and water.

The other four people who live at the home were not inside during the fire, which was under investigation.
